Ochsner Health Center - Lapalco is easy to find in Marrero, just east of the Barataria and Lapalco intersection. We provide a variety of services for your entire family, such as primary care, pediatrics, orthopedics, cardiology and other specialty care options.

We are making healthcare easy. One huge advantage of having a doctor at Ochsner is our electronic medical record. Wherever you go in the Ochsner network, your medical history goes with you and is accessible by specialists, urgent cares and ERs all across the Gulf South.
We are also making it easier to connect you to your doctor at any time with MyOchsner. You can call or message your doctor, schedule appointments, submit refill requests for medication and schedule preventive health reminders to help you stay on track. MyOchsner also allows you to view your results and connect your family to your records and treatment team.

Schedule an appointment
To schedule an appointment, call 504-371-9355. You may also schedule an appointment through MyOchsner.
We offer same-day and next-day appointments. We also offer virtual visits. If you are a new patient, your first virtual appointment is at the discretion of the provider. Learn more about virtual visits, here.
Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early for your appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please make every effort to notify us within a 24-hour advanced notice. If your doctor is unavailable for an urgent problem, please consider allowing Ochsner to book an appointment for you with another provider.
Lab results
You'll get your lab results in the mail. If everything is normal, you should have them within 10 business days. If there's anything unusual, your doctor's office will call you once they get the results.
Prescription refills
If you need a prescription refill, please call your pharmacy to request it. If your pharmacist has any questions, they will contact Ochsner. Make sure the pharmacy sends your refill request to Ochsner at least three to five working days before you run out of your medication. If we don't get the notice in time, we can't promise your refill will be ready before you use up your current supply.
Ochsner On Call
Unless otherwise directed by your doctor or provider, please call Ochsner On Call, our 24/7 nurse care advice line at 1-800-231-5257, for guidance regarding your symptoms. For emergencies, call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room.
Registered nurses at the Ochsner On Call Center can help determine how soon you should be seen and recommend the best care options for your symptoms.
Ochsner Vision Center
Ochsner’s trained optical team is ready to help you find your new style! We specialize in eyewear for strong prescriptions, tricky fits, special lenses, kids, low vision, sunglasses, unique prescriptions and prisms. Our skilled staff is committed to giving every patient top-notch personalized service.

Dr. Joseph was fabulous. My son loves him. The medical assistant however needs patient care training or she should find another career path. She was not nice, patient, kind or even trying to fake a temperament of not liking what she does for a living.
